O’Toole laughs when she recalls filming the scene in the truck as the Kents drive the Luthors to the hospital. “It was a nightmare shoot,” she admits. “You’ve got Schneider, who’s 6’3”, on one side, then me wedged in the middle with little Malcolm on my lap and John Glover on the other side, wedged in with young Lex, who’s a 14-year old kid, on his lap. Just getting all the limbs situated so we could all breathe – and then we had to have all the windows rolled up! But I loved the scene where the two kids are looking at one another, and Clark reaches over and touches Lex’s face. It’s the first thing he wakes up for. Those moments are the ones that I think this show does so beautifully.”

I did that scene with Lois and Clark in the hospital, and we did the first take, and I had to be all zombi-rific…I really just had to decide to go for it. There is really no half way to do a zombie. And you kind of pull from your knowledge of all the zombie movies and whatnot. And I did the first take and after Jordan Hawley yelled, ‘cut’ Tom looked at me and said, “I don’t want to do this scene anymore!” He was really scared. [laughs] He’s a wuss.
